Upside Down Reflection Easy Science Experiment
In this fun and easy science experiment for kids, we’re going to turn our reflection upside down.
Materials:
- Spoon
Instructions:
- Take a large spoon with a shiny reflective finish.
- Hold the spoon up and look into the scoop area.
- Your reflection will be upside down.

How it Works:
A regular mirror is flat and sends your reflection straight back into your eyes. The rounded scoop of the spoon bounces your reflection back at different angles and turns your reflection upside down.
Make This A Science Project:
Try different sized spoons. Try other reflective surfaces that are not flat. Try manipulating sheets of aluminum foil for different reflections.
