Easy Constellation Projector Rocket Science And Space Science Experiment

In this fun and easy rocket science and space science experiment for kids, we’re going to show you how to make an easy constellation projector. 

 

Materials:

  • Empty oatmeal container with lid
  • Nail
  • Scissors
  • Flashlight
  • Pencil




Instructions:

  1. Draw your favorite constellation onto the lid of your oatmeal container.
  2. Now use the nail to poke out the holes of your constellation.
  3. Cut a hole in the bottom of your oatmeal container that is big enough to fit the flashlight through.
  4. Put the lid onto your oatmeal container.
  5. Go into a dark room, turn on your flashlight, and project your constellation onto the wall or ceiling.

How it Works:

The light from the flashlight will shine through the holes and project your constellation as little dots of light on the wall or ceiling. In ancient times, constellations were used to keep track of calendars and help with navigation.
